How to Crop Shipping Labels from a PDF
Marketplace label PDFs put the shipping label and the invoice on one page, with a lot of empty paper around them. This guide shows how to crop shipping labels from a PDF so you can print only the part that goes on the parcel.
It takes eight short steps and works the same way for Flipkart, Meesho and Amazon. Your PDF files are processed locally in your browser.
Step by step
Crop shipping labels in eight steps
Follow these steps with the Shipping Label PDF Cropper open in another tab.
Step 1: Download the label PDF
Use the labels or manifest download in your seller panel to save the shipping label PDF for the orders you are packing. Keep the file exactly as the marketplace gives it.
Step 2: Open the label cropper
Open the Shipping Label PDF Cropper, or the Flipkart, Meesho or Amazon label cropper, in a modern browser. Nothing needs to be installed and there is no account.
Step 3: Choose your marketplace
Pick Meesho, Amazon or Flipkart in the Marketplace selector. Each marketplace has its own label reader, and options that do not apply to it are hidden.
Step 4: Add your PDF files
Drag the PDFs onto the upload area or press Choose files. You can add several files at once. Non-PDF files and files with a name that is already in the list are skipped with a message.
Step 5: Choose the layout and options
Turn on Crop labels so each label is cut out of its page. Then choose 4 labels per A4 page for sticker sheets, or leave it off for one label per page on a thermal printer, and add the order number, a short text or the date if you want them.
Step 6: Process the files
The labels in each file are read as soon as you add it, with progress for each file and a Cancel button. When reading is done, check the SKU list and press Generate Labels PDF.
Step 7: Check the result
Open the processed PDF in a new tab and look through a few pages. Make sure every barcode and address is complete, and read any warning shown next to a file.
Step 8: Print the labels
Download the PDF and print it at actual size (100%). Print one test sheet first, then print the rest of the batch.
Manual cropping vs a label cropper
You can crop labels by hand. Open the PDF, use the crop or snapshot tool of your PDF reader, or print the full page and cut the label out with scissors. For five orders a day that works fine and costs nothing.
It gets slow when the count grows. Every page needs the same crop box, a snapshot turns the barcode into a picture that can blur when printed, and scissors leave you with uneven labels. A label cropper repeats the same steps for every page, keeps the label as sharp vector content and can also sort the labels or put four on a sheet.
A cropper is not perfect either. It relies on the layout the marketplace uses today, so an unusual or changed layout may not crop correctly until the reader is updated. That is why checking the output before printing matters.
Tips for clean crops
- Use the original file. Do not print to PDF, re-save the file in another app or scan a printout. Those steps can strip the text the tool reads, and the order number and SKU will be missing.
- Keep Amazon invoices in the same PDF. Amazon puts invoices on separate pages, and the tool matches each invoice to its label by order ID. If the invoice pages are removed, SKUs cannot be read for sorting.
- Pick the right marketplace before adding files. A Meesho PDF read as Flipkart will not crop correctly.
- Read the warnings. A warning next to a file means an order number or SKU could not be found. The label is still included, but check it by eye.
Troubleshooting
No labels were detected
Check that the right marketplace is selected and that the file is the label PDF, not a report or a manifest list. If the file came from a scanner or was printed to PDF, download it again from the seller panel.
The order number is missing
The tool only prints values it can read from the PDF and never makes one up. If the order number is not found, the file shows a warning and the summary lists the label as having no order number. This usually happens with scanned or re-saved files.
A file was skipped as a duplicate
Two files with the same name, even with different upper and lower case, count as the same file. Rename the second one, for example by adding the date, and add it again.
