How to Print 4 Shipping Labels on One A4 Page

A full A4 page per order wastes paper and sticker sheets. If you print with a normal inkjet or laser printer, you can print 4 shipping labels on one A4 page instead and cut or peel them apart.

The layout part is done by the tool. Getting the printer settings right is what makes the labels line up.

Step by step

Print four labels per sheet

Keep the 4 labels on A4 tool open while you go through these steps.

  1. Step 1: Open the 4 labels on A4 tool

Open the 4 labels on A4 page, choose Meesho, Amazon or Flipkart and add the label PDFs from your seller panel.

  2. Step 2: Turn on 4 labels per A4 page

In the Label options, switch on 4 labels per A4 page. Cropped labels are then placed two by two on A4 sheets, with thin dashed cut guides between them.

  3. Step 3: Process and open the PDF

Press Generate Labels PDF, then open the result in a new tab. Each sheet should show up to four complete labels, scaled to fit without being stretched.

  4. Step 4: Set the paper size to A4

In the print dialog, choose A4 as the paper size. Letter or another size will shift the labels away from the cut guides.

  5. Step 5: Print at 100% or actual size

Set the scale to 100% or Actual size and turn off Fit to page, Shrink to fit or any similar option, so the layout prints exactly as it was made.

  6. Step 6: Print one test sheet

Print only the first page on plain paper. Hold it against a sticker sheet to see that the labels line up, and scan one barcode to make sure it reads.

  7. Step 7: Print and cut the labels

Print the rest on plain A4 paper and cut along the dashed guides, or use A4 sticker sheets that are divided into four parts and peel each label off.

What the A4 layout looks like

Each sheet is a standard A4 page of 210 × 297 mm. The labels sit in a two by two grid with an outer margin of about 6 mm and a gap of about 4 mm between them. Thin grey dashed lines mark where to cut. Labels are never stretched to fill a quarter; they are scaled evenly until they fit.

If you add the order number, a short text or the date, it is printed in a small strip under each label, inside the same quarter, so it never covers the barcode.

Choosing paper

  • Plain A4 paper is the cheapest. Cut along the guides and tape the label to the parcel, or slide it into a label pouch.
  • A4 sticker sheets with four parts save the taping. Check the size of each part against the test print, because sheets from different brands are cut slightly differently.
  • Plain sticker sheets (one big sticker) work too. Cut along the guides with a paper trimmer for straight edges.

Common printing mistakes

  • Leaving Fit to page on, which shrinks the whole sheet and moves the labels off the sticker parts.
  • Printing on Letter size paper settings, which many printers use by default.
  • Printing the whole batch before checking one sheet and one barcode.
  • Loading sticker sheets the wrong way up. Mark the top edge of the paper tray once and you will not forget.

FAQ

A4 printing questions

Answers for when the printout doesn’t look right.

Most often the printer scaled the page. Check that the paper is A4, the scale is 100% or Actual size, and Fit to page is off. Some printers also add their own margin, so compare a plain paper test with the sheet before printing many pages.
